This on-demand Webinar will illustrate the Employee Free Choice Act and its implications for labor relations. This webinar will also discuss methods in which employers can develop a positive working relationship with an organization representing its employees. Based in part on reports from union staff, we will list some of the specific strategies and behaviors that contribute to a constructive relationship. Examples of successful partnerships will also be provided.
Expert
Stacy Hickox is an assistant professor in the School of Labor and Industrial Relations at Michigan State University (MSU). As an attorney, she practiced in the areas of employment and labor law, including claims of discrimination, unemployment compensation, and wage and hour claims. Before joining MSU, she practiced in the area of disability law at Michigan Protection and Advocacy Service. Ms. Hickox also taught for several years at MSU's law school, including courses in employment law, disability law, and civil rights. Ms. Hickox attended the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University and received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Michelle Kaminski is an associate professor in the School of Labor and Industrial Relations at Michigan State University (MSU). Her areas of expertise include: labor law, collective bargaining, steward training and the union role in team concept workplaces. Her research has focused on teams, workplace health and safety and women on organizations. Dr. Kaminski received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
