The Americans with Disabilities Act was amended effective January 2009 to significantly expand the coverage of the ADA to include employees who are significantly limited without considering mitigating measures, and to increase the scope of what is a “major life activity.”  EEOC regulations are also expected to further clarify this expansion of coverage.
